About Our Client: Our client is a prominent law firm specializing in Personal Injury and Employment Law, located in California. They are committed to providing exceptional legal services and advocacy for their clients. They are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Paralegal/Secretary to join their team. This role is critical in supporting their legal team and ensuring the efficient management of case files and client communications.
Position Overview: The Litigation Paralegal/Secretary will provide essential support in Personal Injury and Employment Law practice areas. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in litigation support within these fields, with a strong command of both English and Spanish. This role is hybrid but will require onsite presence for certain tasks and meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and management of case files, including drafting and reviewing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information.
- Prepare and file documents with courts, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements.
- Manage case calendars, including scheduling depositions, hearings, and client meetings.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and provide updates.
- Translate legal documents and correspondence between English and Spanish as needed.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Perform general administrative duties including answering phones, managing emails, and handling office correspondence.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in Paralegal Studies, Legal Secretarial Studies, or related field;
Paralegal certification is a plus. - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal or Secretary, specifically in Personal Injury and Employment Law.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation and case management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research tools.
- Experience with case management software is preferred.
- Hybrid work arrangement available, but onsite presence will be required for certain tasks and meetings.
