Horticulturist

The Horticulturist is responsible for the care, maintenance, and presentation of landscape areas across the property. This role requires strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience to perform skilled horticultural work in accordance with established quality, safety, and operational practices. The position works independently within assigned tasks while collaborating with team members and operations groups to support daily park functions, seasonal needs, and special events.

• Perform skilled landscape maintenance including pruning, trimming, planting, and general plant care in accordance with established standards.
• Maintain landscape areas to show quality, safety, and cleanliness expectations in guest-facing locations.
• Install, maintain, and remove plant materials ranging from seasonal color to larger landscape specimens.
• Perform routine landscape tasks such as weeding, edging, mulching, grading, and site cleanup.
• Support seasonal change‑overs, landscape refreshes, and event‑related installations.
• Assist with routine irrigation‑related tasks, as assigned, such as hand watering, minor adjustments, and reporting observed issues.
• Identify common plants and weeds and report visible plant health or pest concerns as required.
• Apply fertilizers and soil amendments following established procedures and direction.
• Install and maintain basic hardscape elements including rock, pavers, and edging.
• Operate landscape tools, power equipment, and vehicles safely; maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in an orderly condition.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
• Accurately document completed work.
• Establish clear, proactive communication with team members and partnering departments to support the safe, timely, and efficient execution of all tasks.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Associate degree in horticulture or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong plant care, nursery management, and landscaping knowledge.
• Familiarity with landscape tools, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in environments that require climbing or fall protection.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; inventory systems such as Maximo.
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions, diagrams, schedules, and work plans.
• Experience in theme parks, resorts, campus, or large‑scale property environments is a plus.

The pay is starting at $32.78 per hour.
