Position: Retail Store Manager (New Store)

COTTON CITIZEN is looking for a driven, style-minded Store Manager for our new flagship store in West Hollywood, California to build and lead our retail team and bring our brand to life on the sales floor. This role blends people leadership, operational excellence, and a sharp eye for brand presentation. You’ll be responsible for creating an elevated customer experience, building a high-performing team, and ensuring the store runs smoothly day in and day out.

As Store Manager, you’ll lead by example—coaching and developing your team, driving sales and KPIs, and maintaining visual standards that reflect our brand’s aesthetic. You’ll also oversee scheduling, inventory, and store operations while fostering a positive, inclusive environment where both customers and employees feel inspired.

Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with executive team, the Store Manager will interview, hire, and train the sales team for the new location, leading and executing all efforts to achieve store goals through strong team building.
  • Own the operations of the new retail store, from staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and problem solving. Accountable for hiring, training and development of the store team across all areas of the business.
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales goals set by executive management. Lead and mentor with regular staff meetings, keeping everyone in the loop and inspired.
  • Drive sales and performance of the store and individual sales associates.
  • Own and manage the elevated client experience, knowing the ins and outs of the brand, our production processes, and product knowledge. Translate this knowledge to the retail team and ensure pristine communication about who we are with clients.
  • Build and own client books for the new location, ensuring proper and timely communication with repeat customers regarding new arrivals, special drops, store exclusives, and in-store events.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing team to plan and execute in-store events, engaging our local customer base and VIP clients by hosting sales and branded events in store.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing team to ensure store visuals are up to date and data driven decisions are made for product presentation within the space. Communicate regularly with division heads on product needs and market trends to maximize productivity.
  • Contribute to Loss Prevention in all areas of the business, set expectations, and own training for the entire store team.
  • Manage the day-to-day performance of the retail teams, enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience.
  • Own Reviews / Development Plans / Disciplinary Action and Corrective Action for the team.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the store and district/regional management, ensuring seamless operations across the board.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience managing a fashion brand retail store of similar level required.
  • 5+ years of retail experience.
  • Full time availability.
  • Advanced skills in communicating effectively with a friendly and upbeat attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed goals, while solving various problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and build client relationships.
  • Team player;
    Able to work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Willingness to learn and master new platforms and technologies, while constantly researching new technologies that can help provide a better service to customers.
