Position Purpose

As a Security Officer, you will serve and safeguard a high profile hospitality institution. The Security Officer is responsible for the surveillance of the premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. A Security Professional detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observes and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures and site-specific policies
• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
• Patrol on foot to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
• Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed
• Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
• Screen members and visitors to expedite their admittance to the facility
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
• May also include customer safety escort

• Must be able to work all shifts

• Must be highly organized with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
• Must be self-motivated with high energy level
• Must be a team player working with all levels of management and staff
• Must be able and willing to work 10-12 hours and flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Must have basic knowledge of arithmetic
• Must possess clear thinking ability and sound judgement
• Must possess ability to remain calm and resolve problems under pressure
• Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language; bilingual Spanish preferred
• Must practice excellent personal hygiene and consistently display a professional presence
• Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion

Qualifications

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 2 years in a luxury environment. Experience in a quality, multi-outlet, high volume restaurant.
