This is a full-time, on-site Estimator role based in West Islip, NY. The Estimator is responsible for reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for bullet resistant and blast resistant systems, as well as standard storefront and architectural metal projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing project requirements, communicating with vendors and internal departments to obtain pricing, and preparing detailed proposals and quotations.

The role involves tracking project changes, updating estimates, and maintaining organized records of bids and awarded projects. The Estimator collaborates with project managers, engineering, and production teams to ensure estimates align with manufacturing capabilities and project timelines.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Experience with construction estimating, preferably in glazing, windows, doors, or architectural metal systems.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Excel, estimating software, and basic CAD or drawing review tools).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Solid organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations, quantity take-offs, and proposal documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively on-site and build positive relationships with cross-functional teams.
• High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in security, bullet resistant, or blast resistant products is a plus.
