The Recreation Bus Driver (Per Diem) is responsible for safely transporting nursing home residents to and from scheduled outings, and community events. This role supports the Recreation Department by ensuring residents have safe, comfortable, and enjoyable transportation experiences while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations and facility policies.

• Safely operate facility bus/van to transport residents to recreational outings and special events
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including use of wheelchair lifts and securement systems
• Ensure all passengers are properly secured before transport
• Follow all traffic laws and facility transportation policies
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle; report maintenance concerns promptly
• Pre and post trip inspection of van
• Assure van is fueled using funds/reimbursement from employer
• Maintain accurate transportation logs and required documentation
• Communicate effectively with recreation staff regarding schedules and resident needs
• Provide courteous, compassionate interaction with residents at all times

• Valid CDL with P endorsement and clean record
• Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred
• Ability to safely assist residents with mobility needs
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible availability

Per diem/as-needed basis; schedule may include weekdays, evenings, or weekends based on activity programming needs.

USD $24.00 - USD $24.00 /Hr. The pay for this position is $24.00 per hour. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
