Local Contract Nurse RN - Acute Care

WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a local contract RN Acute Care for a contract assignment in West Islip, New York. This role is ideal for an OR nurse who thrives in a fast‑paced surgical environment and is committed to delivering safe, high‑quality perioperative care.

Specialty: Acute Care Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks Hours per week: 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract

• Day Shift – 3x12: 11am‑11:30pm.
• Document all patient care accurately, completely, and promptly in the facility EMR.
• Prepare the operating room for procedures and assist with room turnover.
• Assist with patient positioning and ensure comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Handle and label specimens according to policy.
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection‑control standards.
• Identify and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to ensure efficient workflow.

• BLS – Required.
• PALS – Required.
• All allied certifications must be included at submission.
• NY State license required for nursing roles (must be in hand at submission).
• Travel experience:
  Required.
• Trauma Level I experience:
  Preferred.
• Community hospital experience:
  Preferred.
• Charting: EPIC (required).
