Nursing Assistant - Pain Management

• Practice regular hand hygiene and comply with standard and transmission‑based precautions.
• Respond appropriately to the special needs of each patient group specific to age, language, culture, and other factors.
• Under RN direction, assist with patient admission including reception, equipment preparation, vital signs, weight, orientation, and safety measures.
• Provide direct care with attention to personal hygiene, safety, comfort and skin care while anticipating patient and family needs.
• Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding as directed; distribute water and other nourishment.
• Assist and/or transport patients safely and in a timely manner.
• Collect and transport specimens maintaining regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate purposeful rounding and respond to call bells immediately.

• Completion of a Nursing Assistant program, BOCES, Military Hospital Corps School, or equivalent with NYS CNA certification, or completion of a nursing fundamentals course or equivalent within an RN program, or a minimum of 2 years experience as Nursing Assistant.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safety and infection control practices.
• Knowledge of computer systems and/or prior clerical experience.
• BLS or CPR/AED training required from either AHA or American Red Cross; online programs are not accepted.

USD $25.62 - $32.32 per hour. This estimate reflects base pay; additional compensation may be provided based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Benefits are not included in this figure.
