Job DetailsResponsibilities
- Facilitate seamless, timely and patient-centered admissions and discharges.
- Complete required assessments and admission/discharge documentation.
- Provide individualized education and support to patients and families.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care using sound clinical knowledge and judgment.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support safe transitions.
- Delegate appropriate patient care activities while maintaining responsibility and accountability for nursing care.
- Respond appropriately to individual patient needs, including age, language, culture, health literacy and developmental or physical needs.
- Maintain patient safety, infection prevention practices and established standards of care.
- Maintain professional competency and participate in continuing education relevant to the clinical area.
- Assist with the orientation and mentoring of new employees and share clinical knowledge with the nursing team.
- Participate in unit-based performance improvement initiatives and support departmental goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; candidates with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) who are actively enrolled in a BSN program will also be considered.
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license required.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Strong communication, clinical assessment, prioritization and patient education skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR, Epic preferred) and computer systems.
USD $56.39 - USD $73.66 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
