Longhorn Industrial Contractors is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, accounting support, and financial record management, with extensive experience using Quick Books. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company.
Responsibilities- Maintain accurate financial records in Quick Books
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Manage Accounts Payable, including vendor invoices and payments
- Manage Accounts Receivable, including invoicing and collections
- Process and record daily financial transactions
- Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation
- Monitor account balances and investigate discrepancies
- Assist management with budgeting and financial tracking
- Support year-end accounting and tax preparation processes
- Other administrative assistant duties
- Minimum of 5 years of recent, in-depth accounting software experience (Quick Books preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures
- Strong experience with account reconciliations, including bank and credit card accounts
- Experience managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Construction industry accounting experience is highly preferred
- Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
- Familiarity with payroll processing and sales tax reporting
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator or similar graphic design software for creating marketing materials, presentations, forms, and other business-related documents
- Proficiency with design and document-layout programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CorelDRAW, or similar applications is a plus
Position is 35-40 hours a week.
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
