We are looking for an engaging Chemistry teacher to join our science department. You will teach core chemistry concepts to grades 10-12, facilitating both classroom instruction and hands‑on experiences to spark scientific curiosity.
Key Responsibilities- Curriculum and Lab Instruction:
Develop and implement meaningful lesson plans aligned with the Utah State Core Standards that integrate hands‑on activities and experiments to reinforce core concepts. - Classroom Environment:
Cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation while effectively managing the classroom to maximize learning time. - Assessment and Data:
Create valid assessments and analyze student data to provide targeted interventions and constructive feedback. - Differentiation:
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners. - Communication:
Actively collaborate in professional meetings and maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.
Collaboration:
Work proactively and professionally with fellow chemistry faculty to co‑develop and implement standardized laboratory investigations and common assessments.
All applicants must have a Professional Educator License awarded by the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) or apply for an Associate Educator License (AEL) to be eligible to apply to Jordan School District and participate in our Alternate Pathway to Professional Educator Licensing (APPEL) Program when hired. Proof of an AEL is required before you will be added to the candidate pool.
