Program Recruiter and Outreach Specialist

Job Summary

The Program Recruiter and Outreach Specialist will play a vital role in supporting prospective and current students by guiding them through the admissions and enrollment process, including registration and program requirements, while advancing outreach efforts that increase the visibility, engagement, and growth of the Building Puentes program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist prospective and current students through admissions, enrollment, and registration processes.
  • Provide personalized support to students via in‑person meetings, phone, email, and virtual platforms such as Zoom.
  • Plan and deliver informational sessions and represent the program at community events, career fairs, and other recruitment opportunities.
  • Respond to student inquiries in a timely, professional, and supportive manner.
  • Identify and resolve students’ concerns by connecting them with appropriate student resources and services at WSU.

Required Qualifications

  • Willingness to work with adult learners, first‑generation college students, and diverse populations.
  • Willingness to take initiative and problem‑solve individual student cases for the best student experience.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends; flexible schedule as needed to support program events and outreach activities.
  • Experience in customer service, outreach, or a related field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment as well as independently.

Physical Requirements

Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and/or fingers; sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.

Exposure to adverse environmental conditions:
None; typical office or administrative work conditions.
