The Student Program Manager role within the Office of Mentoring Programs is a key student leadership role. Overseeing a mentoring program’s data and engagement opportunities, this role supports the design, implementation, scaling, and assessment of mentoring initiatives across campus by coordinating projects, supporting peer mentor development, tracking program data, and collaborating with campus partners. The Student Program Manager is expected to be a positive leader and representative.

It is also expected that they demonstrate initiative, professionalism, excellent communication and listening skills, responsibility, accountability, integrity, and a desire to learn, grow, and develop as a leader.

Job Responsibilities Mentoring Program Development
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of mentoring initiatives with OMP frameworks and best practices.
  • Assist mentoring programs with coordination, documentation, and resource sharing.
  • Help ensure mentoring programs align with institutional priorities and student success initiatives.
  • Take the lead on tracking and assessing mentoring data, including engagement and satisfaction metrics for assigned mentoring programs. Assist with data sharing and summaries.
  • Maintain program databases, new-student entries, student referrals, etc. (Google Sheets, forms, etc.).
  • Monitor mentor/mentee matches and interest forms.
Project Management
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with Office of Mentoring programs staff, campus partners, and student staff.
  • Coordinate mentoring-related projects, including recruitment efforts, outreach initiatives, and event planning.
  • Track timelines, tasks, and deliverables using shared project management tools (e.g. Google Drive, Asana, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Peer Mentor Leads and professional staff to support implementation across multiple programs.
  • Lead campus engagement activities and represent the assigned mentoring program’s interests in this regard.
Required Qualifications
  • 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Full-time (12 credits or more)
  • FAFSA /Work Study eligibility strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse students, staff, and faculty
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a peer mentor and/or Lead Mentor within a mentoring program
  • Experience serving as a program liaison, supporting communication between student staff and professional staff
  • Experience with mentoring initiatives, peer education, or student success programs
  • Familiarity with Google Suite, Canvas, or similar tools
  • Experience leading peers
  • Teamwork/ Team-oriented
