Combines student supervision with instructional and clerical support.
- Knowledge of child development and age‑appropriate instructional practices.
- Understanding of elementary reading, writing, mathematics, and classroom management.
- Familiarity with student safety, confidentiality, and diverse learning needs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support individual and small‑group instruction.
- Strong organizational, teamwork, and basic technology skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to follow teacher direction, adapt to classroom needs, and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to supervise students and perform light physical duties associated with the position.

- Understanding of small‑group instruction and reading intervention practices.
- Knowledge of student learning needs and positive behavior supports.
- Ability to support reading instruction through one‑on‑one and small‑group activities.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Ability to encourage student confidence and engagement in reading.
- Ability to follow instructional plans and adapt support to student needs.
- Ability to maintain a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
- Knowledge of playground safety rules, student supervision practices, and school procedures.
- Basic understanding of child behavior and positive behavior support.
- Knowledge of office equipment, including copiers and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to monitor students, resolve minor conflicts, and maintain a safe environment.
- Skill in operating office equipment and organizing instructional materials.
- Ability to supervise students effectively while promoting safe and respectful behavior.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and support multiple staff members.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift classroom materials, and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Effective July 1, 2026
Lane 1 Step 1 ($17.88/Hour) Not Highly Qualified
Lane 2 Step 1 ($18.88/Hour) Associate's degree or 48 semester hours from an accredited college/university; or
Lane 3 Step 1 ($19.94/Hour) Current/Former Licensed Teacher
