Asset Recovery Manager
Hours:
8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
Pay: $85,000 – $140,000 per year, depending on experience.
Location:
West Jordan, Utah. This is an in‑office position.
The person in this position will manage the operations of the Asset Recovery department, including Special Assets and Account Resolution. Primarily responsible for preserving the credit union’s assets by controlling delinquency and charge‑offs through collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering and liquidating collateral. - Manage the staff and operations of the department to ensure delinquency and charge‑offs stay at or below the established acceptable ratios.
- Oversee collection matters including, but not limited to, delinquent member contact, bankruptcy, legal proceedings, credit disputes, garnishments and levies, foreclosures, repossessions, troubled loan modifications, charge‑offs, etc.
- Manage loss mitigation strategies for delinquent accounts, both share and loan.
- Maintain consistent knowledge of software, processes, and procedures of Asset Recovery.
- Handle escalated collection and member service calls.
- Responsible for credit union ODP program.
- Manage Chex Systems, including disputes, reporting, transaction audits, etc.
- Hire, train, develop, motivate, coach, and discipline team as necessary.
- Allocate resources to meet operational needs.
- Ensure all collection activity is legal and consistent with federal and state regulations and credit union policy.
- Conduct consistent staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Understand the Bank Secrecy Act and how it is applied.

- 5‑7 years experience in collections and/or account resolution practices within a financial institution.
- Minimum of 2‑3 years of experience in managing a collections team. Experience leading a department is a big plus.
- Education in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics). Tradeoffs may be considered for direct working and leadership experience.
- Familiar with collections software (e.g., Akuvo) and banking software (e.g., Symitar Meridian Link, preferred).
- Good working knowledge of collections, including practices, principles, and regulations.
Physical Requirements
Works primarily in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly need to: see, talk, hear, and perform repetitive movements with arms, hands and fingers to handle, feel, grasp and reach. A computer, phone, and standard office equipment are normal tools for this position. Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
The employee may at times also need to: climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
