The Research Associate II, Material Sciences, is responsible for supporting the onboarding of new materials and ensuring manufacturing readiness for clinical production activities. This includes conducting comprehensive risk assessments and specification generation for existing and new raw materials and consumables utilized in the GMP manufacturing of biologics. This is a remote position, required to be located in EST or CST timezones.
HowYou’ll Spend Your Day
- Conduct risk assessments for existing and new raw materials and consumables.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and implement mitigation strategies identified through risk assessments.
- Define and finalize release specifications for raw materials and consumables used in the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to align on release specification requirements for controlled materials.
- Manage and coordinate specification updates for controlled materials initiated by Analytical Development, Quality Control, and Material Sciences to ensure visibility and alignment that will minimize or eliminate redundancy.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Procurement, Process Development, and Manufacturing teams to assess risks and define specifications for consumables.
- Provide data to support the Material Sciences authoring of sections of filing documents.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of extractables/leachables (E/L) risk assessments, TSE/BSE evaluations, nitrosamine assessments, and vendor‑supplied material data.
- Assist in investigations of non‑conformances related to single‑use components within the Biologics Manufacturing Facility (BMF).
- Partner with procurement to establish CDAs/NDAs with vendors.
- Participate in industry consortiums (e.g., Bio Phorum, BPSA, ELSIE, PDA) to stay current with best practices and support the implementation of industry‑aligned material management strategies at Teva.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related discipline required.
- At least 1‑2 years of pharmaceutical experience with exposure to GMP regulations (including relevant internships or co‑ops) required.
- Foundational experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated ability to support cross‑functional initiatives and interdisciplinary project management.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- High attention to detail and effective time management.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software tools.
The annual starting salary for this position is between $87,200 – $100,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
