Reports To: Assembly Supervisor / Production Manager
Position SummaryThe Assembly & Deployment Technician supports the assembly of structural frames, electrical and mechanical components, camera mast systems, power systems (solar & generator integration), and other hardware per defined specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and collaboratively in a hands‑on production environment. This position requires up to 25% travel when fully trained.
Key Responsibilities- Follow work orders, assembly instructions, and engineering drawings to assemble products in the shop and deploy products in the field.
- Travel up to 25% to support field deployment of product.
- Install structural components including frames, masts, mounts, and hardware.
- Fit and secure mechanical components such as masts, mounts, and lighting fixtures.
- Perform electrical/mechanical hookups (routing wiring, connectors, harnesses to switches, terminals, and connections).
- Use hand and power tools safely and reliably (drills, impact drivers, torque tools).
- Verify assembly integrity by checking alignment, torque specifications, and fit-up.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area consistent with shop safety policies.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and delivery schedules.
- Level I: Support production and deployments as assigned with supervision.
- Level II: Support production and deployments independently; diagnose/troubleshoot field and assembly issues; perform pre‑deployment quality checks.
- Level III: Lead field deployments; mentor Level I/II technicians; drive product improvements; communicate customer needs to Account Executives; support R&D; document production processes.
- High School Diploma
- Positive attitude and strong team collaboration skills
- Must be 21+ years of age with a valid driver’s license to meet fleet vehicle insurance requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort with hands‑on assembly work
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings or assembly guides
- Experience with hand/power tools and basic production equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks - Level I:1–3 years work experience; basic understanding of electrical/electronic components.
- Level II: 3–5 years work experience (1–2 years in electrical/mechanical assembly); experience with vehicle electrical wiring or solar systems.
- Level III: 4+ years work experience (3+ years in electrical/mechanical assembly); 2–3 years in sales, technical customer‑facing, or field service roles; high skill level in vehicle wiring/solar; demonstrated attention to detail.
- Preferred: 1+ years of IT‑related work experience.
- Typical manufacturing shop/warehouse environment.
- Required PPE:
Safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and gloves. - Physical tasks require frequent bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in indoor/outdoor weather conditions.
- Domestic (US) travel up to 25% per month, including overnight stays up to 5 days at a time. Travel expenses and per diem provided.
