Short Intro and About the Job

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Quality Intern based in West Jordan, UT
! The Quality Intern will support the Quality department and help advance quality and food safety by creating a knowledge database, researching novel technology to eliminate unwanted microorganisms in the production environment, and assist with the identification and implementation or quality improvement opportunities. A key component of this role is to understand the production operation and work cross-functionally to identify opportunities to be more efficient.

• Conducting, and sometimes leading, research, analysis, and improvement projects related to department goals
• Actively engaging the current workforce, through job shadowing for example, to effectively achieve project and department goals
• Presenting project findings and solution proposals to peers and plant leadership
• Other duties, as assigned

Physical Demands

• Stamina and endurance to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time
• standing, walking, bending and stooping (at waist level), kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting (at waist level and at the neck).
• Tasting, smelling, seeing (including colors), speaking, and hearing, within a normal range to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and results.
• Working up to 12-hour shifts in production areas with a usually moderate noise level.
• Occasionally climbing stairs, step ladders, or stools.
• Using fine motor skills to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, and controls.
• Occasionally lifting, from 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., and occasional team lifting or more than 50 lbs.

Work Environment

• Work will be performed in a manufacturing environment with usually moderate noise levels and will involve standing/walking on a concrete surface for the duration of your shift.
• Regularly working indoors, near moving mechanical parts and will be occasionally exposed to cold, wet, and/or humid conditions, as well as going outdoors (infrequently).
• Occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and may be exposed to loud noises in the plant.
• Occasionally work in high, precarious places and may be exposed to extreme cold, the risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
• Work schedules could include nights, weekends and/or holidays to provide the ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate.

Engagement in our Integrated Work Systems

Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE;
Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance;
Focused Improvement;
Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

Compensation & Benefits:

Base compensation for this position is $25.00/hr.
