Farm Worker​/Crop Laborer; Temporary

Overview

Temporary Need: 03/27/26 - 11/10/26. Four (4) full-time, seasonal, temporary Farm Workers/Crop Laborers needed. Work will be performed at West Jordan. All worksites within the mile radius are located in Davis, Toole, Salt Lake and Utah Counties. Delivery/Storage worksites are located within a 25-mile radius of the place of employment in Davis, Toole, Salt Lake and Utah Counties.

Wage is $12.48/hr h-2A workers $10.64/hr will work 42 hrs/week, Mon-Sat, 7:30am – 4:30pm.

• Carry out Team Lead tasks as directed by employer/foreman/supervisor.
• Maintain, drive, attach, and operate farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilize, and harvest crops.
• Make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery.
• May mix and/or spray chemicals (according to applicable restrictive use laws, when/if applicable).
• Remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farm grounds; remove rocks from field; paint/repair/maintain farm structures; perform general cleanup of farm areas, greenhouses, orchards, and/or fields.
• Drive, load/unload farm trucks; transport crops to market; workers possessing proper licensure may be asked to transport other farm workers.
• Flood irrigation tasks: operate gates to flow water, adjust embankments, and perform basic repairs to pipes and irrigation structures.
• Drip irrigation tasks: move and lay drip equipment, install plastic pipe, connect lines to water supply, start/stop flow, maintain/repair lines, and clean lines as required.
• Apply horticultural techniques to prepare fields/plant/spray/weed and irrigate plants/shrubs/trees; sow seed and plant cuttings; recognize disease and nutrient/moisture requirements; observe plant condition and apply appropriate care.
• Harvest, pack, and store crops; track and transport crops; assist with packaging and shipment preparation; maintain and repair structures/grounds.
• General duties related to crop production including weeding, hand harvesting, trimming, crop quality assessment, and placement into containers or onto conveyors.

• Applicants must have 2 months of agricultural work experience.
• Provide contact information for at least one reference who can verify experience and performance.
• Must be able to obtain a valid Driver’s License as driving on public roads may be required.

• Tools, room, board, kitchen facilities, and transportation provided at no cost to workers.
• Workers must be available for the entire work period and keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean; adhere to safety rules as instructed by the supervisor.
• Employee must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated.
• Must provide employment eligibility documentation (I-9 verification) upon hire.
• Employer will provide Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance at no cost to the worker.
• Employer guarantees employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4 of the total work period, beginning with the first workday after arrival or the advertised contractual first day of need, whichever is later.
• If the worker completes 50% of the work contract, the employer will pay transportation and daily subsistence costs up to specified limits; if the contract is terminated for reasons beyond control, the employer will fulfill obligations including transportation and subsistence as described and transfer efforts may be made to other comparable employment.
