The Team

As part of the Regulations & Safety organization, Environmental Health & Safety develops programs that protect employees, the environment, and surrounding communities. The team promotes a proactive safety culture while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The Role

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of workplace environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role works closely with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture, reduce risk, and maintain a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Key Responsibilities Safety & Health Compliance
  • Conduct routine workplace safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and recommend corrective actions
  • Support incident, injury, and near-miss investigations; track corrective actions
  • Assist with environmental compliance activities (e.g., waste management, spill prevention, chemical storage)
  • Support pollution prevention and sustainability initiatives
Program Support & Documentation
  • Maintain EHS policies, procedures, permits, SDSs, and records
  • Track EHS performance metrics and prepare reports for management
  • Serve as a point of contact for EHS-related questions
  • Participate in safety committees and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support regulatory inspections and internal audits
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-3 years of experience in EHS, safety coordination, or a related role preferred
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Communication:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with front-line employees and leadership.
  • Analytical:
    Strong analytical skills to analyze safety data, spot trends, and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Ability to evaluate hazardous conditions and develop practical safety solutions.
  • Leadership:
    Proven ability to influence safety behaviors and lead change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technology:
    Proficiency in EHS Management Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
