We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent on-site Electrician to come and join our team on our Nuclear Restoration services account at Hunterston A site, West Kilbride, KA23 9RA
Our Nuclear Restoration Services account at Hunterston A in West Kilbride supports the safe, secure and efficient operation of a complex nuclear environment through high-quality facilities and engineering services. As an Electrician, you will play a key role in delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance, helping to keep site operations compliant, reliable and running smoothly within a highly regulated setting.
The standard hours of work are 37 hours per week (shift pattern 07.30 – 17.15 Monday to Thursday only)
What you will do:- Ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety.
- Monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment.
- Record and keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
- Maintain a working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures.
- Undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate.
- Undertake electrical inspection and testing as planned.
- Undertake electrical project/installation work as appropriate.
- Understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
- Understand and comply with policies and procedures.
- Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
- Attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required.
- Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
- Time served Approved Electrician with an in date CSCS/ECS/Gold card.
- SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (SCQF Level
7) or an approved equivalent qualification. - IEE 18th Edition Regulations
- Experience in dealing with all types of electrical installation work.
- Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation works as required within the scope of the contract.
- Be pro‑active and can anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
- Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer‑based systems.
- Ability to effectively prioritise own workload.
This role is subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. BPSS is a pre‑employment screening process and includes verification of your identity, right to work in the UK, employment history and references, and a basic criminal record check. Appointment will be conditional upon successfully meeting the BPSS requirements.
