Summer Room and Board Summer hours per week
Required hours include days, evenings, weekends, overnight hours, and holidays
Position Requirements
Required on-call rotation
Required to live in the assigned hall for the duration of the summer program season
Position is considered a full-time commitment
No additional employment is permitted
Candidates are not permitted to take summer classes
Job Description
The primary role of the Summer Student Office Coordinator (SSOC) is to schedule and supervise all Summer Student Office Staff (SSOS) within their program team. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a leadership environment. The SSOC position should work 5-10 hours per week during the academic year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer.
The SSOC must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one semester of college coursework completed
Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University, Purdue University Global, or a local accredited college
Previous work experience within University Residences preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Flexible and dependable with strong attention to detail
Problem solving, logic, and reasoning skills
Customer service oriented
Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
Ability to work independently and with a team
Be timely and organized
Previous experience as a Community Assistant for University Residences or equivalent preferred
Strong computer skills
Previous supervisory experience preferred
