Job Summary

Purdue University Northwest, Department of Computer Information Technology and Graphics, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence, with employment starting on August 17, 2026.

Department Profile

The Department of Computer Information Technology and Graphics (CITG) comprises 13 full-time faculty. It enrolls more than 300 students in three undergraduate degree programs: B.S. in Computer Graphics Technology (CGT), B.S. in Computer Information Technology (CIT), and B.S. in Cybersecurity (CYSC). AI courses are required in both CIT and CYSC programs. The department is also responsible for the courses in the Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence degree program, launched in Spring 2025.

In addition, the department offers minors in Applied Data Science and Cybersecurity. The CITG website is located at https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..

College of Technology (COT), where the CITG is housed, enrolls more than 115 graduate students, including 25 in the newly offered M.S. in Applied AI, 40+ M.S. Technology graduate students in a Computer Information Technology concentration, and 10 Doctor of Technology graduate students pursuing applied research in various technology fields, including applied AI. COT provides an excellent teaching and learning environment with state-of-the-art hardware and software.

Education

A doctoral degree in Artificial Intelligence or related fields by the start of the appointment.

Experience

Teaching experience and conducting research in applied artificial intelligence through student evaluations, publications, grant activities, industry engagements, and/or project reports.
