DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervise students in absence of their original teacher
- Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the classroom teacher
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators
- Manage classroom behavior and student engagement
Perform other duties as assigned by the School Principal or staff
- Education, Training, and Experience
Required:- High School Diploma
- Indiana Substitute Teacher Permit (can be obtained through our office)
- College coursework in education or a related field is preferred
- Prior experience in a school or child care setting
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as a team with other staff
- Displays dependability, punctuality, and adaptability
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to various classroom environments
- Position works primarily indoors in a variety of classroom settings
- Frequently interacts with students and school staff
- May work near loud or distracting environments
- May need to stand, walk, or supervise active students for extended periods
- May be required to manage emotionally or behaviorally challenging situations
