Long Term Substitute Counselor

Classified, Non-Supervisory
Pay Rate:
Initial substitute daily pay rate (starting at $145 per day) for the first 15 consecutive days, followed by daily rate based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract

Duties and Responsibilities- Provides short-term academic, college/career, and social-emotional counseling services to students in the absence of the regular school counselor
- Support academic tracking, scheduling inquiries, and student progress monitoring
- Assist in maintaining student support processes, Section 504 accommodations, and testing logistics as needed
- Responds to student crises and provide intervention, collaborating with administration, staff, and families as appropriate
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of student interactions during the coverage period
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Administration
- Education, Training, and Experience
Required:
Bachelor's Degree (minimum), Master's Degree in School Counseling preferred - Valid Indiana School Counselor License
- Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
Ability to utilize student data to design interventions and foster academic achievement - Exceptional interpersonal, crisis intervention, and communication skills
- Jr.
-Sr. High School or Secondary experience is preferred
Position works indoors in a typical school environment that may include school office, classroom, and meeting environments
May work near others, often within a few feet
May occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distracting
