Multiple fully funded PhD positions are available in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Purdue University, starting in Spring 2027 or Fall 2027.

We are looking for highly motivated students with a strong background in mathematics and/or programming and a strong interest in conducting high-quality, impactful research.

Prior research experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related areas is highly desirable.

Students from computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, and related fields are encouraged to apply.

Our group focuses on trustworthy and reliable machine learning for real-world problems.

Dr. Wang is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award, AAAI Distinguished Paper Award, Purdue Engineering Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award, and Tonjes Rising Star Professorship.

Our research has been consistently published in top-tier conferences and journals.

Our graduates have pursued successful careers at leading organizations including Amazon, Apple, and NEC Laboratories America.

Current students have secured research internships at Microsoft Research, Amazon, Samsung Research, Sony Research, and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
