Rolls‑Royce is looking for a Control Software Engineer‑Simulation to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls‑Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi‑disciplinary team.

As a Control Software Engineer‑Simulation, you will be part of a multidiscipline team responsible for the development, testing and continuous integration of the hardware and software test environment used in the development and qualification of electronic engine control software and hardware‑in‑the‑loop investigations.

You will be involved at all stages of a project lifecycle from concept development, integrated/component testing through final production release and maintenance. You'll usually work in project teams with colleagues in other branches of engineering.

  • Strong development experience
  • Familiarity with the design and development of embedded software solutions
  • Knowledge in software design patterns
  • Familiarity with Integration (software/hardware and software/software) and component level testing
  • Familiarity on software lifecycle (Design to release)
  • Knowledge of software testing framework

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 1 year of software engineering experience OR
  • Master’s degree Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering OR
  • PhD in degree Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Requirements
  • Strong software development skills in areas such as: C/C++, Python, CMake, Bash, Simulink, Continuous Integration/Automation (e.g. Jenkins), UNIX shell, or similar
  • Modelling, Simulation, and Control System experience
  • Knowledge in software design patterns and software testing framework
  • Familiarity with Embedded Systems Architecture and Design
  • Knowledge of electronics (sensors, actuators, and processors)
  • Understanding of UNIX, Windows OS, and build environments
  • Hardware (electronics/circuits) troubleshooting experience
  • Current (or ability to obtain/maintain) US DOD Secret or Top‑Secret security Clearance
  • Ability to present technical data to senior engineers and management
