Job Description
Saab, Inc. Aerospace Systems, located in West Lafayette, Indiana, next to the world-renowned Purdue University, is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to support production of the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force.
In this role, you will lead the deployment and execution of the Quality Management System, champion a zero-defect culture, and ensure compliance with AS9100, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a results-driven professional with strong integrity, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to develop high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Quality Director to maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Lead a multi-shift manufacturing quality team, including inspection, audits, and quality engineering
- Drive accountability, performance, and continuous improvement across quality operations
- Prepare for and lead internal, customer, and third-party audits
- Oversee first article inspections (FAIs), inspection planning, and standardized work
- Ensure configuration control, traceability, and document compliance
- Manage nonconforming material (MRB) and support risk-based decision-making (deviations, concessions)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program teams
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), including root cause analysis and effectiveness checks
- Mentor and develop quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians

Compensation: $132,000-$171,600
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience- BS or MS in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field
- 8+ years of manufacturing quality experience, including 5+ years leading teams
- Proven leadership ability to drive high performance, accountability, and develop future leaders
- Experience developing and executing strategic plans to meet operational goals
- Aerospace experience (composite and/or metallic airframe systems) strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of AS9100D requirements
- Experience leading internal, customer, and third-party audits
- Strong communication and team-building skills
- Experience collaborating with DCMA is a plus
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills (8D, 5-Why, PDCA, etc.), with a sense of urgency
- Ability to support a multi-shift quality organization as needed
