Tipmont is seeking a Staking Engineer to design and stake electric and broadband distribution projects across west-central Indiana. You'll perform field surveys, prepare construction drawings, calculate loads, and ensure compliance with NESC, RUS, and cooperative standards. In this collaborative, safety-focused role, you'll coordinate with line crews, members, and engineering staff to support system reliability, grid modernization, and fiber deployments while documenting work in GIS/CAD tools and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform field surveys and stake electric and broadband distribution projects
- Prepare construction drawings, work orders, and material lists
- Apply NESC, RUS, and cooperative standards to all designs
- Calculate loads and conductor sizes to support system reliability
- Update and maintain GIS/CAD records for plant and projects
- Coordinate with line crews, engineering staff, and contractors
- Communicate with members regarding service requests and project impacts
- Support grid modernization and broadband expansion initiatives
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures in field work
- Contribute to process improvements and documentation standards
