Job Summary
The Business Manager, Student Organizations will direct the management of the finances and business office support for Student Organizations across the University with annual expenditures exceeding $12M and approximately 1,000 recognized Purdue University student organizations in West Lafayette and Indianapolis.
Responsibilities Include:- Serve as the resource/liaison for the Department to the College and central offices.
- Provide proper interpretation of University, Federal, State, and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with central business service operations and other related entities in meeting the strategic goals of the University.
- Prepare financial and management reports to support long-range planning forecasts; budget recommendations, planning, and analysis; and financial analysis and strategic financial management of college resources.
- Serve as mentor and key resource person to peers within Business Office.
Required:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or related field of study.
- Four years of business administration, financial management, or related experience.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, implement, and communicate policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, project management, financial analysis, supervisory, and customer service skills.
- Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
- Must be able to foster a participative supervisory style that utilizes accountability, respect and teamwork to successfully guide the work of others.
- Must possess a learning orientation to change technology impacting business processes, e.g. SAP, etc.
- Proficient in following software:
Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook - Demonstrate originality, creativity, and ability to resolve issues on a daily basis.
- A demonstrated knowledge of sponsor and University regulations and basic proficiency in all technical and professional skills related to business office and contract grant management.
- Knowledge of SAP, Cognos and other University software tools.

The anticipated annual rate for this position is $74,715/year. The final salary offer will be determined based on various factors, including internal equity, available budget, and relevant experience.
