Position SummaryIn this role, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of the residents of the campus in accordance with the Indiana Department of Transportation regulations and campus policies and procedures. This position assists the life enrichment and other departments in conducting programs, activities and outings for residents of the community.
Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities- Transport residents safely on outings, trips, doctor appointments and shuttles.
- Operate the wheelchair lift in a safe manner and ensure wheelchairs are secure prior to driving the vehicle.
- Ensure all community vehicles are clean, maintained, and fueled.
- Maintain the maintenance log for the vehicle.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after use.
- Assist with community events and activities as needed.
- Supervise residents in activities outside the community as needed.
- Ensure that all community vehicles have current registration and relevant safety/emissions testing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.
Education
:
High School Diploma/GED.
Licenses/Certifications
:
Valid Driver’s License.
Experience
: 1+ years of driving experience.
- The ability to patiently assist residents get on the vehicle and answer their questions as needed.
Consistent, local travel to transport residents.
CompensationMinimum
: USD $16.00/Hr.
Maximum
: USD $18.50/Hr.
