Job Summary

Responsible for machining metal fabricated components to print using manual, NC, and CNC Mills and Lathes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Machine parts using Bridgeport Mills, Wilton Lathe, Mazak CNC Machining Center, and Mazak CNC Turning Center.

  • Determine proper machining operations required to fabricate parts to print and tolerances
  • Responsible for tooling selection for each operation to balance cost and efficient machining
  • Create, modify, and update programs for the Mazak CNC Machining Center and Mazak CNC Turning Center using Mazatrol Conversational Programming Software (at the machine)
  • Responsible for creating and using machining fixtures for repetitive parts
  • Develop and utilize set-up sheets for machined parts
  • Meet or exceed estimated cycle times for machined parts
  • Inspect parts to assure we are meeting or exceeding customer expectations and requirements
  • Utilize and maintain precise measuring instruments including micrometers, dial and digital calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other instrumentation
  • Optimize processes for competitive pricing and manufacturability
  • Promote a safe workplace environment
  • Support quality of products in design and manufacturing
  • Provide assistance to other operations when required
  • Initiate continuous personal and professional development and improvement
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements
  • Have a minimum of 4-5 years of machining experience (preferred)
  • Ability to fully utilize manual and CNC machining processes and equipment
  • Strong understanding of quality inspection instruments and techniques
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret blueprints
  • Have a working knowledge of tolerances and GD&T callouts on blueprints
  • Communicate effectively with production staff and management
  • Have a basic understanding of OSHA safety requirements
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks while completing them in a timely fashion
