What You'll Be Doing- Performing and supervising the repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of university property, utilizing knowledge of blueprints, schematics, computer programs, technical manuals, and catalogs.
- Work with vendors, engineers, co-workers, and other administrators as necessary in the performance of duties.
- Assist supervision in prioritizing and monitoring activities of personnel and functions.
- Assist personnel in troubleshooting and completion of work orders in a timely manner.
- Take appropriate action to correct material and personnel bottlenecks, including communications to vendors and expeditors.
- Identify and correct both personnel and equipment safety issues and advise supervision of corrective action taken to prevent reoccurrences.
- Create, print, and close SAP work orders.
- The Multi-Craft Crew Chief is subject to 24-hour call back for emergencies, fire, and vandalism.
Job Summary
- As a Multi-Craft Crew Chief for the Operations and Maintenance Dept., you will perform and supervise the repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of university property.
Required
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 5 or more years of experience in Carpentry, Electrical, General Construction, Indoor Air Quality, Masonry, Plumbing and/or steam fitting, Refrigeration, Sheet Metal or Welding.
Preferred
- College coursework or Vocational/Technical school preferred.
Skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
- Computer skills with word processing and spreadsheets.
- General craft knowledge including Carpentry, Electrical, General Construction, Indoor Air Quality, Masonry, Plumbing and/or steam fitting, Refrigeration, Sheet Metal or Welding.
- Ability to complete supervisory training courses.
- Ability to learn and work with SAP.
- Valid driver’s license.
