The City of West Linn Police Department seeks dedicated and caring law enforcement professionals to serve as Police Officers. Police Officers may receive up to 22% incentives in addition to the base salary:
Special Assignments 5%, Education and Certification up to 17%, Longevity 2%.

• Contribute to a positive work environment and maintain good relationships with colleagues and the community.
• Perform routine patrol of city roads, residential and business areas; enforce traffic laws, criminal laws, and city ordinances.
• Takes and prepares comprehensive reports on activities within the officer's jurisdiction.
• Respond to radio calls, including traffic accidents, person and property crimes, investigate accidents and complaints, make arrests, issue citations, transport prisoners and provide delivery service as required.
• Assist the public by answering questions regarding directions, laws, ordinances, and aid stranded motorists.
• Assist in crime prevention and public relations activities, including presentations to various groups.
• Appear in court as a witness when necessary.
• Provide minor first aid at accident scenes and direct traffic if necessary.
• Communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

• National Testing Network scores and a completed Personal History Questionnaire required.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Must obtain basic certification from DPSST within one year of appointment.
• Experience as a reserve who completed DPSST certified reserve academy training, or as a civilian/military law enforcement officer with at least one year of experience, is a plus.
• 21 years of age, U.S. citizenship, valid driver’s license, and good driving record.
