Corporate Quality Manager

• Lead and supervise a team of quality control inspectors, providing guidance, training, and support
• Develop and implement quality control strategies, policies, and procedures
• Act as a subject matter expert on quality control methodologies, standards, and best practices
• Conduct inspections and testing of fabricated steel components and structures
• Use NDT methods including ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing
• Perform dimensional checks and material testing
• Implement and maintain quality management systems
• Conduct internal audits and assessments and initiate corrective actions
• Facilitate external audits and certifications
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyze quality data, trends, and metrics to optimize processes and reduce defects and waste
• Promote quality excellence and participation in quality initiatives across the organization
• Oversee welding quality requirements for Sure Steel Inc. and Summit Steel LLC
• Work out of the Portland, OR office

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Assurance, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in quality control, inspection, or materials testing, with a focus on steel fabrication and construction projects
• Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in quality control principles, procedures, and testing methods, including non‑destructive testing (NDT) techniques
• Certification in relevant NDT methods (e.g., AWS CWI, ASNT Level II or III) preferred
• Must have CWI
• Certified Construction Quality Manager would be nice to have
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, and stakeholders
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead and mentor junior quality control staff

Demonstrates expertise in quality control methodologies and non‑destructive testing (NDT) techniques, with a strong focus on steel fabrication and construction projects. Proven ability to lead teams, implement quality management systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
