Roles at Google encompass the design and operation of sophisticated electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and infrastructure systems in our data centers. Facility Technicians support operational excellence through monitoring, maintenance, and repair of critical systems. This role involves daily assistance to senior technicians, interpreting blueprints, conducting tours, and ensuring systems perform to design specifications.

You will develop innovative approaches to reduce operational costs and improve data center efficiency while maintaining environmental and safety standards. In emergencies or abnormal conditions, you will manage performance issues and outages to minimize recovery time.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Seven years of experience in data center operations or other relevant operational experience in non‑data center industries (e.g., power generation, HVAC and refrigeration, industrial manufacturing, military, oil and gas, maritime, or chemical engineering).
• Five years of experience managing technical teams and vendors responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure.
• Proficiency in team building, people management, and project management.

• Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards.
• Understanding of electrical, control, and mechanical systems maintenance in a data center environment.
• Proven ability to set, prioritize, and achieve business objectives.
• Strong skills in coaching, mentoring, and training team members.

• Plan and execute campus operational budgets, allocate resources, and forecast expenses.
• Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) with internal teams for uptime, efficiency, and cost are met.
• Lead efforts to integrate corporate-wide strategy and execution with internal and external partners.
• Create cost‑effective operations strategy focused on total cost of ownership.
• Apply critical thinking and innovation to tackle traditional and emerging data center challenges.

US: $122,000 – $174,000 (USD) plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
