Full Time Position

East Arkansas Family Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in West Memphis, Arkansas. This position provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages in a community health center setting.

The Mid Level Provider will provide preventive care, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients and families.
  • Obtain and document complete medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Arkansas laws and organizational policies.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory, diagnostic, and imaging studies.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, treatment plans, medications, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Promote preventive healthcare services, including immunizations and age-appropriate screenings.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Comply with all organizational, state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current, unrestricted Arkansas Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
  • National certification appropriate to specialty area.
  • Current DEA registration and Arkansas prescriptive authority.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification; ACLS and PALS preferred or required based on patient population.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Community health, family practice, or primary care experience preferred, but not required.
Schedule
  • Primarily Monday through Friday
  • Occasional Saturday morning coverage (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) on a rotating basis
  • Saturday shifts shared among providers and are scheduled in advance
