Role DescriptionThe Infusion Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in West Memphis, AR. This position is responsible for administering intravenous therapies, medications, and fluids according to provider orders and established protocols. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patients before and during infusions, monitoring for adverse reactions, documenting care accurately, and providing patient and family education on infusion therapies and home care instructions. The Infusion Nurse collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, and other care team members to coordinate treatment plans, ensure safe medication administration, and support transitions of care.
Additional duties may include maintaining infusion equipment, adhering to infection control standards, and participating in quality improvement initiatives related to infusion services.
- Strong clinical Nursing skills with a focus on intravenous therapy and infusion care.
- Knowledge of Medicine and pharmacology relevant to infusion treatments and patient monitoring.
- Experience in Home Infusion practices, including patient education and safe transition to home-based care.
- Demonstrated ability to provide Direct Patient Care, including assessment, care planning, and ongoing evaluation.
- Background in Critical Care Medicine or experience caring for acutely ill patients is highly beneficial.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arkansas.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and infection control standards, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior infusion or oncology nursing experience is preferred but not required.
