Quality Control Specialist

• Ensure products and services meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, project specifications, and the quality control program
• Input, maintain, and track deficiencies within the QC software system
• Assist senior technicians in troubleshooting problems and providing solutions
• Perform visual inspections to verify installed products meet project requirements, company standards, and local codes
• Document and communicate the progress, findings, and outcomes of quality control activities
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness, identifying errors, inconsistencies, and missing information
• Attend training sessions with QC and project team members
• Manage and maintain quality control documentation, inspection results, weld maps, torque maps, and compliance records
• Communicate quality issues and concerns to supervisors, foremen, and project managers
• Document unresolved project issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with project superintendents, foremen, and project managers to implement quality improvement best practices
• Ensure quality control processes and products comply with industry standards, local codes, and customer specifications

• 4-year degree in a related field
• 2+ years' experience in fabrication shop quality control
• Quality Control training is required
• OSHA 10
• 20 hours Continuing Education
• Working knowledge of construction codes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
• Working knowledge of regulatory agency requirements as they pertain to quality control
• Working knowledge of nondestructive testing techniques
• Ability to read and understand construction documents, including contracts/subcontracts, purchase documents, plans, and specifications
• Ability to act as a quality control specialist and keep up with industry changes
• Proven ability to supervise, communicate, and lead personnel
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
• Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
• Preferred: 2+ years of hands-on experience in layout, fitting, and welding steel pipe and sheet metal
• Preferred:
  Construction claims experience
• Preferred:
  Certifications in welding, quality control, or nondestructive testing techniques
• Preferred:
  Expert-level knowledge of welding methods, procedures, and quality control
• Preferred:
  Working knowledge of all tools and equipment
• Ability to travel 0–5% of the time
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Ability to perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds

Demonstrates expertise in Quality Control processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements while effectively communicating and collaborating with project teams. Proficient in troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced construction environment.
