Maintenance Technician I
We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician I to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, building systems, machinery, and electrical/controls equipment at Dollar Tree’s Distribution Center.
About Your RoleAs a Maintenance Technician I, you’ll help ensure that all equipment operates at peak efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Your day‑to‑day duties include the following:
- Maintenance & Equipment Support:
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on equipment such as lift trucks, pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, and electrical/electronic systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, logic controls, PLCs, motor drives (Servo and VFD), and external I/O devices.
- Diagnose electrical problems using technical drawings (blueprints, schematics) and diagnostic tools (multimeter, laptop).
- Assist other maintenance technicians in repair and maintenance of equipment.
- Initiate and implement new procedures or designs to maintain equipment efficiency.
- Maintain an organized work area and promote a safe working environment within the Maintenance department.
- Documentation & Communication:
- Complete work orders, records, logs, and other documentation according to established procedures.
- Communicate technical issues effectively to associates, leadership, and suppliers to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure workmanship meets the highest quality standards.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate material handling equipment, battery‑powered equipment, and other powered machinery safely.
- Maintain a customer service‑oriented approach while addressing technical issues.
- Coursework or certification in electronic technology and 2 years industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology OR 3 years industrial maintenance experience in electronic technology (including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment).
- PLC/PC programming knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
- Hands‑on industrial electrical experience, including 480V 3‑phase, 110 VAC, and 24 VDC systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with PCs and industrial control devices/networking.
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to business leadership.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Associate’s degree in electronic technology with 2 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience maintaining automated equipment in a distribution center environment.
