Title: Assistant Director of Academic Advising (Regular Full-Time)
Department: Enrollment Services
Campus: South Campus (in‑person)
Salary: Admin 14 – $55,756 per annum
Job SummaryThis position is responsible for Academic Advising operations in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including hiring, training, providing ongoing professional development, scheduling, and quality assurance of the Academic Advising experience for students.
Responsibilities- Supervise academic advising operations and staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and providing professional development.
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Registration, and Enrollment Services to develop and assess student intervention strategies that promote retention and completion.
- Develop and maintain advising schedules to meet student needs both on campus and remotely.
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to retention and completion for internal and external use.
- Ensure advising documentation (web, portal, mobile app) is accurate, consistent, and accessible.
- Provide consultation for Prior Learning Assessment with Academic Department Heads and Discipline Deans; orient Faculty Assessors.
- Apply best practices of current software platforms to support student retention and completion.
- Serve on cross‑departmental committees as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of related experience in higher education advising or a comparable field.
- Knowledge of academic advising theories, best practices, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Strong organizational skills and effective written and verbal communication.
- Commitment to customer service excellence and staff development.
Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
