Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory Welding/Cutting & New Construction team of Reactor Servicing Systems is hiring an experienced mechanical engineer. The role supports assembly and installation of power units onto ships and provides engineering support to resolve issues.
Responsibilities- Maintain Reactor Servicing Procedures.
- Provide engineering support to resolve problems.
- Communicate effectively during interfaces with the shipyard, Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc., and Naval Reactors.
- Possible opportunity for equipment design and qualification as a Shipyard Liaison Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, engineering, or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in a related technical, engineering, or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Doctorate degree in a related technical, engineering, or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
- Degrees in Mechanical Engineering are preferred, but not required.
- Mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience with 3D modeling.
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

$95,700.00 - $ annually
Additional Requirements- All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
