Position Summary
JGMS is seeking an experienced electrical engineering drafter to join our team as part of a project that is a multi-site organization engaged in the design, production, testing, and delivery of advanced training simulators.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Develop, review, and update schematics and engineering drawings using computer-aided design software to depict equipment and systems.
- Create/revise detail and assembly drawings from conceptual layouts and sketches in accordance with established drawing standards using 2D/3D CAD software.
- Perform other drafting duties such as preparing lists of material.
- Work from the verbal and written directions of engineering.
- May be required to research projects independently or acquire subject knowledge by consulting with product developers and applying knowledge of the latest drafting/design technology.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in design and drafting technology or a related electrical design field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in design and drafting technology or a related electrical design field.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience as an Electrical Engineer.
- US citizenship may be required.
- Proficiency performing electrical engineering drafting.
- Knowledge of drafting standards and techniques.
- Experience creating or reviewing electrical engineering designs based on approved technical requirements.
- Proficiency with engineering software including Solid Works, Solid Works Electrical, and/or AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with Programmable Logic Controllers, low voltage electrical distribution, audiovisual, or telecommunications systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
Candidates must possess a DOE L security clearance or equivalent DoD Top Secret security clearance.
