Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented System Administrator to join the Information Technology (IT) team and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional IT services. The role of the System Administrator requires a broad understanding of technology including server, network, application and scripting skills. The successful candidate will work in a technically diverse environment on a team responsible for supporting and maintaining our Microsoft Exchange, Skype and Office 365 environments.
This individual will collaborate with internal customers and technical IT colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of assigned systems utilized across the Program. Join our team for a challenging and rewarding career in support of the mission of the NNL.
- Exchange Administration:
Support Exchange Server administration tasks, including user mailbox management and troubleshooting email issues. Assist in monitoring and maintaining Exchange Server performance and availability. - Skype for Business:
Help manage the Skype for Business deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting. Provide support for Skype for Business-related issues, including connectivity and user account issues. - Office 365 Administration:
Assist with the setup, configuration, and management of Office 365 services. Support users with Office 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, and One Drive. - General IT Support:
Provide first-line support to end-users, addressing technical issues and escalating as needed. - Lifecycle Management:
Planning and managing the product life cycles of existing and new implementations, including applying periodic operating system and application patches. - Documentation:
Thoroughly documenting and maintaining processes, procedures, knowledge base articles, configurations and test plans. - Security:
Ensure compliance to security policy and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience providing user support and system administration of Office 365.
- Demonstrated system administration experience with Microsoft Exchange Server and Skype for Business.
- Demonstrated ability in both verbal and written forms of communication with colleagues in a teaming environment.
- Broad knowledge of infrastructure (network and servers), services and security policies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to work on multiple task assignments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy on all work efforts.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams.

$78,700.00 - $ annually
