Work Hours:
Standard College hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm;
Actual hours will be based on class schedules and the needs of the department.
The Nursing Student Success & Retention Specialist supports student success, progression, retention, and NCLEX readiness within the Nursing Program. This position provides proactive academic support through early identification of at-risk students, individualized remediation planning, coaching, mentoring, data analysis, and collaboration with faculty. The Nursing Student Success & Retention Specialist serves as a key resource in the development, implementation, and evaluation of retention initiatives while utilizing assessment and performance data to improve student outcomes and program effectiveness.
Requirements- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with documented active pursuit of a master's degree in nursing.
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience. Experience in nursing education, academic support, student success, remediation, or retention initiatives preferred.
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license or multistate licensure privilege.
- Ability to obtain and maintain ATI Proctor Certification and ATI Champion designation.

- Develop and implement individualized student success and remediation plans.
- Analyze assessment data and identify trends impacting retention and progression.
- Coach and mentor students using evidence-based success strategies.
- Facilitate individual and group remediation sessions.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Prepare reports and present retention and assessment findings.
- Coordinate multiple projects and maintain accurate records.
- Utilize educational technologies and data management systems effectively.

Student Support and Remediation
- Identify academically at-risk students through review of course performance, assessment data, standardized testing results, and faculty referrals.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and document individualized remediation and student success plans.
- Provide academic coaching, study skill development, test-taking strategies, and success planning.
Data Tracking, Assessment, and Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and interpret assessment and retention data as outlined in the Systematic Evaluation Plan and program action plans.
- Collaborate with faculty to identify student performance trends, strengths, and opportunities for improvement.
Faculty Collaboration and Support
- Collaborate with faculty regarding student progression concerns, remediation plans, and intervention strategies.
- Provide guidance and support related to academic resource products, reports, assessment tools, and remediation resources.
Student Orientation and Success Programming
- Provide orientation regarding academic support products, learning management systems, assessments, remediation expectations, and available academic support resources.
- Develop and facilitate workshops and support sessions focused on study skills, technology utilization, academic success, and NCLEX readiness.
