Could you be the full-time onsite Site Industrial Quality Manager in West Mifflin, PA US we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your industrial quality management expertise in a new cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and forward‑thinking teammates.

You’ll lead the implementation of the Zero Defect Program within Industrial Quality activities at our West Mifflin site, driving operational excellence and ensuring top‑tier quality standards across production. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, production, and supply chain), manage site Industrial Quality activities—including budget, people, processes, and performance—and drive continuous improvement initiatives using innovative digital solutions and quality tools, such as Lean Six Sigma and Problem Solving methodologies, and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Lead and manage the site industrial quality team (direct reports: industrial quality technicians).
  • Oversee day‑to‑day quality operations on the production line: perform and supervise in‑line validations and checks (e.g., torque validation), troubleshoot manufacturing quality issues, and ensure products meet release criteria for shipping.
  • Act as the primary quality presence on the production floor (hands‑on role): conduct inspections, support production during build and release.
  • Partner with production and white‑collar leadership to align quality processes and expectations; translate quality requirements into shop‑floor practices.
  • Own/process nonconformance reports (NCRs) and related SAP or site‑specific workflows (training/access will be provided).
  • Use data to drive quality improvements: collect and analyze production quality metrics, create charts/reports, support continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, TQM) initiatives.
  • Conduct or coordinate internal audits and support external audit readiness (ISO knowledge expected); potentially support lead‑auditor activities or fast‑track certification onboarding.
  • Train, mentor, and develop technicians and site staff on quality standards, inspection methods, and shop‑floor procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to site safety, uniform, and operating procedures (site uniform required).
  • Participate in local cross‑site coordination as needed (occasional travel to sister sites).
All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Associate Degree / College technical diplomas, and/or strong technical certification plus relevant experience (Engineering Degree is a plus).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant manufacturing quality experience.
  • Understanding of quality standards and systems (ISO, TQM, Lean, Six Sigma), manufacturing quality processes and line validation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (strong Excel skills — pivot tables, charts), experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving, ability to read drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong communication and team leadership, ability to work with both blue‑collar technicians and white‑collar leadership.
  • Certifications (preferred): ASQ certifications (Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, lead auditor), Lean/Six Sigma experience (Green/Black Belt or demonstrated knowledge), lead auditor training is a plus.
  • Must be willing/able to work predominantly on the shop floor; comfortable with a manufacturing environment.
  • People management experience in an industrial environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life‑long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:
