Kennywood – Rides Maintenance Assistant
Roles & Responsibilities- Assist with repair and maintenance of park property.
- Assist the maintenance team in maintaining the park’s attractions.
- Assist with ride operation, maintenance, and clean-up.
- Assist in cleaning of tools or parts.
- Assist with ride tear down and winter rehab under the guidance and supervision of experienced mechanics.
- Accountable for tools and materials.
- Create and maintain a detailed part inventory.
- Keep the maintenance shop and surrounding lot clean and organized to present a professional appearance at all times.
- Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guests.
- Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Equivalent work experience will also be considered. 1+ years of previous work experience in maintenance or mechanics is preferred but not required.
LanguageAbility to read, write, and speak fluent English;
Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and open to close operations.
- Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and a skill in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Must possess basic general knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and small combustion engine repair.
- Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods.
- Ability to remain on feet the majority of the workday.
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more.
- Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights, including on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts.
- Consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools.
- Visual acuity: see differences between colors and brightness; see details more than a few feet away.
- Frequent exposure to variable outdoor temperatures, including heat, cold, sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and ice.
- Exposure to repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, chemicals, greases, and blood borne pathogens.
- Proper PPE required; work may involve significant heights.
