Job Opportunity

Ouachita Parish School Board has a standing application process that allows individuals to apply for positions, whether there is a vacancy or not. This allows for a pool of applicants should a position become vacant. This application is not posted for a specific location at this time.

Minimum Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen or authorized alien
• High School Diploma
• Must pass a criminal background investigation and drug screen
• Must possess computer/data processing and typing skills
• Must possess personality traits which are conducive to working closely with all school personnel and the public
• Satisfactory Completion of Red Cros First Aid Course including CPR with 60 days of employment
• Preferred:
  Certificate of Completion from Technical School of College

Job Summary:

Performs secretarial work involving the smooth flow of correspondence and attention to administrative action matters in office operations. Work is performed in accordance with accepted standards and techniques for secretarial assignments and with strict confidentiality. Must possess high levels of accuracy in work and must be able to work well within deadlines. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential. Must be able to manage several projects simultaneously.

Secretarial routines and practices are associated with an efficient, productive and well-managed school.
