Job Summary/Purpose
The training specialist will work with field personnel to understand and analyze performance needs to determine appropriate training solutions. Provide safety, operations and maintenance training services to Power Generation personnel and solicit and respond to trainee needs. Training services include development of training courses, teaching courses, communicating with customers to define and prioritize their needs, and developing plans and initiatives to meet customers' needs.
Responsible for the administration of all phases A.D.D.I.E. in the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process.

- Work with customers to determine needs and priorities and develop plans and initiatives to meet customer needs related to maintenance, and other technical training for the Power Generation organization.
- Research and analyze operational, maintenance, and other technical training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultations with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.
- Conduct needs and performance analysis to develop the basis for new curriculum development or updating existing curricula for Power Generation operations, maintenance, and other technical personnel.
- Develop and edit classroom training materials and provide input into overall training content to meet training needs.
- Solicit and respond to feedback regarding content, delivery, training department processes, etc.
- Oversee, schedule, deliver, teach and/or facilitate multi-skilled training courses, including control room simulator training on CCCT, operating fundamentals of CCCT, instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical maintenance practices.
- Apply evaluation models (such as Kirkpatrick) to ensure training effectiveness and determine future delivery methods.
- Develop or update training courses and certification processes for new and existing operations, maintenance, and other technical personnel in Power Generation.
- Apply ADDIE or other development models for course development and maintain course history information.
- Obtain technical reviews from content owners and ensure accuracy of revisions to provide high-quality technical materials.
- Collaborate with business partners to review and update Training Procedures, Operating Procedures, Maintenance Procedures, and other documents; develop and manage a technical documentation plan for each project.
- Participate in continuous improvement of technical writing processes and systems to ensure quality, compliance, and reliability of technical publications.
- Work with minimal supervision to complete work on schedule and within budget.
Education
High school diploma required, or equivalent.
Desired
Associate degree in Process Technology.

: 6+ years of power generation or related industry experience with ability to deliver, produce and develop training materials without a degree, or 5+ years with a degree. - Multi Skilled Tech Training Specialist, Sr
: 8+ years with or without a degree (5+ years with a degree). - Multi Skilled Tech Training Specialist, Sr Staff
: 12+ years with or without a degree (5+ years with a degree).
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to travel up to 75% to support field locations in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
- Effective communication across various mediums and styles; strong interpersonal skills; ability to integrate into diverse teams.
- Working knowledge of or ability to learn LMS and SharePoint.
- Operations
Skills:
Knowledge of Combustion Turbine and associated auxiliaries, generator and related equipment, CCCT knowledge, and understanding steam properties related to Power Generation. Familiarity with Adobe suite products and content management is preferred. - Maintenance Skills – in one of these disciplines in addition to Operations: Instrumentation and Controls or Electrical or Mechanical; experience with installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and documentation is desired. Welding skills are highly desired for mechanical track.
- Ability to write operating procedures, technical manuals, and product documentation is desired.
