Sirius Staffing is seeking two experienced Distribution Designer III professionals for a long-term contract opportunity in West Monroe, Louisiana.
This position is responsible for working directly with customers to determine electrical service needs and designing distribution projects involving the installation, replacement, or removal of electric distribution facilities. Projects will support new residential and commercial development, customer service requests, system reliability initiatives, and infrastructure improvements.
The ideal candidate will have experience with electric utility distribution design, field construction practices, overhead and underground distribution systems, drafting, GIS/GDT systems, and project coordination. Candidates with construction leadership, management, structural analysis, or pole-line field experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple electric distribution projects supporting new residential and commercial customers.
- Meet directly with customers to determine electrical service requirements and project needs.
- Design overhead and underground electric distribution line extensions.
- Develop designs for the installation, replacement, relocation, and removal of distribution facilities.
- Prepare project estimates, construction drawings, and associated design documentation.
- Coordinate project schedules and construction commitments.
- Lead and participate in pre-design and pre-construction meetings with internal teams, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Perform engineering and design calculations supporting distribution planning and corrective-action projects.
- Complete calculations and analysis involving:
- Load studies
- Voltage drop
- Fault current
- Revenue justification
- Distribution system requirements
- Apply established electric utility distribution design standards and field practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to local operations personnel.
- Assist with contractor compliance related to distribution design standards and construction practices.
- Coordinate with construction and field personnel to help ensure projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Assist Right-of-Way personnel with permits, easements, and other ROW documentation.
- Maintain accurate project drawings, records, estimates, and supporting documentation.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to provide responsive service to customers and project partners.
- Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or technical diploma in a related technical field.
- Relevant experience in electric utility distribution design, electric distribution construction, or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of electric utility distribution systems and field construction practices.
- Understanding of overhead and/or underground electrical distribution systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and prepare technical drawings and construction documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, construction personnel, contractors, engineers, operations teams, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work onsite in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Candidates with approximately 4–7+ years of applicable experience are preferred; however, the client is open to considering candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong relevant utility or distribution-design knowledge.

Candidates selected for the position must successfully complete all required pre-employment requirements, including:
- Drug screening

- Required Alliance Safety Council training prior to starting the assignment
Completion of the required Alliance Safety Council training is mandatory before the employee may begin work.
This is a fully onsite position in West Monroe, Louisiana. The role combines office-based distribution design and project coordination with interaction involving customers, construction teams, field operations, contractors, and other utility stakeholders.
